Alternative title: Automated and high-throughput evaluation system of process-structure-property dataset for Ni-base superalloy
Description:
(abstract)Superalloys used in aircraft engines applications are composed of numerous elements and complex hieratical microstructures, requiring a large amount of high-quality process-structure-property dataset for optimizing their structure and processing. Recent advances of computational simulation will be helpful for optimization of alloy structure, designing new superalloys to meet a given set of material properties without experimental trial and error is still unfeasible. Here, we proposed a novel automated high-throughput method capable of gathering 2400 data points relating processing conditions, microstructure geometry and yield strength in 13 days. An estimated 200 times faster than conventional methods using tensile testing specimens, a complete Process-Structure-Property (P-S-P) dataset is created from a single sample. The method to rapidly assemble comprehensive and consistent P-S-P datasets can facilitate efficient alloy design.
