(abstract)Creep strength of welded joints of Grade 91 Type 1 and Type 2 steels was evaluated; impurity elements in the Type 1 steel reduced the creep strength. This reduction was attributed to an increase in the amount of residual carbides in the fine-grain heat-affected zone during welding.
