Description:
(abstract)Silicone macroporous monoliths prepared by a surfactant-free process have the potential to be used as flexible insulation materials. The solar reflectance of the material prepared by the improved process was investigated and found to be close to 98% in the visible spectrum, with good reflectance in the infrared region. The combination of its thermal insulating properties and infrared radiation wavelengths indicates that this material has excellent properties as a thermal management material.
