(abstract)

We study interfacial magnetocrystalline anisotropies in various Fe/semiconductor heterostructures by means of first-principles calculations. We found that many of those systems show perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) with a positive value of the interfacial anisotropy constant Ki.
