Description:
(abstract)We report for the first time that PDMS rubber sorbs an extremely large amount of CO2 (792 mg g−1) at near the condensation pressure at a certain low temperature (−3 °C), giving the sorption enthalpy of 9.3–10.8 kJ mol−1. The sorption isotherms were evaluated by means of the Flory–Huggins equation, and the resultant χ parameters (1.3–0.2) were used to estimate the solubility parameter (SP). The CO2/CH4 and CO2/N2 selectivities were 9.6–44 at 100–3000 kPa and were far larger than those of activated carbon.
