Description:
(abstract)Multifilamentation of YBa2Cu3O7-δ (YBCO)-coated conductors with a continuous and as-narrow-as-possible gap layer is considered an important structural requirement for maximizing current-carrying performance and reducing alternating-current loss. This study aims to establish a microstructural design guideline for controlling the formation of continuous gap layers by clarifying the relationship between Nb stripe geometry and the resulting non-superconducting gap-layer structure.
