Description:
(abstract)We have developed a PFSA-vinylon laminated ultra-thin membrane, which is easy to handle even for 10 μm or less and can be used for fuel cell evaluation, by combining PFSA polymer with vinylon and laminating it with PFSA polymer. In the I-V evaluation of the fuel cell using the PFSA-vinylon laminated ultra-thin membrane, the cell resistance was smaller than that when the Nafion212 membrane was used, and high performance was obtained. Particularly, when oxygen was used as the cathode gas, the performance was remarkably high. On the other hand, PFSA-vinylon laminated ultra-thin membrane has some problems in gas barrier property. However, we propose that the PFSA-vinylon laminated ultra-thin membrane that does not use the reinforcing material is one of the methods that enables low cost and high performance.
