説明:

(abstract)

we account self-assembled functional peptides, in which peptides with appropriately designed amino acid sequences can assemble functional groups on the side chains of the amino acids. First, we apply our design strategies for the synthesice of peptide-based materials with sequenced side chains with polar moieties, organic dyes and metal complexes. As a result, the synthetic oligopeptides exhibit inherent and photoinduced charge separation, electrochemical redox activities, as well as responses to bio-sequences. Next, catalytic and photocatalytic oxygen reduction reaction and hydrogen evolution reaction are shown by utilizing peptides with separated functionalities on both sides of the β-sheets by hybridizing with electro- and photoactive graphene oxide and metal nanoparticles. Finally, self-assembly of natural proteins that form micrometre-scale spherical geometry and fibres are utilized for optical and biomedical applications.
