Fig S1. Schematic drawing of the graded architecture depicting the 100 µm offset (red lines) between each cell size zone. The R1 zone interpenetrated 100 µm of the R2 zone, and the R2 zone interpenetrated 100 µm of the R3 zone. The offset was introduced to anchor the neighbouring layers with each other and prevent their slipping out.
