## Title

- title: Hysteresis-free high linear response and noise characteristic of GMR sensor
using pulse width modulation (PWM)-domain wall displacement
  title_type: original
  lang: en

## Description

- description: This study examines the output characteristics and noise behavior of
giant magnetoresistance (GMR) magnetic field sensors employing the pulse-width
modulation domain wall displacement (PWM-DWD) method. In this approach, a high-frequency
(up to 100 kHz) sinusoidal magnetic field is applied along the asy axis of the
free-layer magnetization in the GMR device to induce oscillatory otion of domain
walls, with the modulation amplitude exceeding the coercivity of the free layer.
By periodically driving the domain walls close to magnetization saturation, hysteresis
in the sensor output is effectively suppressed, thereby yielding a highly linear
sensor response. The sensor demonstrated a minimum detectivity of 14 nT/Hz1/2
at 120 Hz under a modulation field of 1.1 mT at 100 kHz. The dominant noise source
was identified as the stochastic nature of domain wall displacement, and further
noise reduction is anticipated through lowering the coercivity of the free-layer
material and increasing the modulation frequency.
