## Description

- description: 'Flavor (spin and valley) order plays a critical role in the physics
of flatband graphene systems, leading for example to Fermi surface reconstructions1–7,
and quantum anomalous Hall states7–11. Understanding the interplay between flavor
order and superconductivity stands as a key research goal. Here we establish an
optical technique that sensitively and selectively detects flavor textures in
flatband graphene. By performing a systematic study across natural and magic-angle-twisted
bilayer and trilayer graphene and comparing with theory, we show that it provides
information that is distinct from and complementary to electrical compressibility
measurements. The wide-field imaging capability of optical probes allows us to
obtain spatial maps of flavor orders with high throughput, and with broad temperature
    and device compatibility. '
