Enhanced optical properties of the (001) texture translucent YVO4:Nd3+ ceramics can be achieved by adding LiVO3 flux using a spark-plasma-sintering (SPS) technique. YVO4:Nd3+ green body oriented along the (001) direction is successfully obtained from well-dispersed and highly stable YVO4:Nd3+ suspension with suitable amount of LiVO3 flux addition using 1wt%dispersant. The introduction of LiVO3 flux can accelerate the sintering process and promote more effective densification during sintering. This ultimately leads to improved density of theYVO4:Nd3+ ceramics compared to the sample without flux addition. The enhanced density, caused by the addition of the flux, finally results in the improved transmittance efficiency of the texture translucent YVO4:Nd3+ ceramics.
