(abstract)In this work, we report the controlled fabrication and characterization of TMD nanoscrolls with a wide range of outer diameters—from 10 nm to several hundred nanometers. This structural tunability was achieved by scrolling various multilayer TMDs, with the process facilitated by built-in strain originating from Janus WSSe monolayers. Remarkably, we demonstrate that even more than four-layer TMDs can be scrolled into stable structures. The structure-dependent stability and optical properties of the resulting nanoscrolls were investigated by photoluminescence (PL), Raman spectroscopy, and second harmonic generation (SHG), revealing strong correlations with the scroll diameters.
