## Description

- description: This study demonstrates metallic NbS₂-based one-dimensional van der
Waals (vdW) heterostructures synthesized via a modified NaCl-assisted chemical
vapor deposition method. Employing a “remote salt” strategy enabled precise NaCl
supply control, yielding high-quality coaxial NbS₂ nanotubes on SWCNT–BNNT templates
and allowing morphology tuning from 1D nanotubes to suspended 2D flakes. HRTEM
and STEM confirmed crystalline NbS₂ nanotubes with a bilayer preference, unlike
the monolayer-dominated behavior of semiconducting dichalcogenides. Optical analyses
(UV–vis–NIR, FTIR) verified metallicity, while Raman studies showed faster ambient
degradation of 1D NbS₂. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations revealed
that interlayer charge transfer and Coulomb interactions stabilize bilayer nanotubes.
These findings establish a framework for synthesizing metallic 1D vdW heterostructures
    and elucidating their stabilization mechanisms.
