(abstract)

In general, γ-ε martensitic transformation in austenitic steels improves work hardening capability and fatigue resistance but causes brittle-like fracture and deteriorates hydrogen embrittlement resistance. To avoid the disadvantageous effects, we must understand the evolution mechanisms of plasticity, stress, and damage during plastic deformation involving γ-ε martensitic transformation.
