説明:
(abstract)Metallic nanoparticles have been used to enhance light-matter coupling, optoelectronic response and to improve photocatalytic performance of two dimensional (2D) materials. While the plasmonic nanoparticle assembling process could be generally applied to many different 2D materials, it is usually carried without any specific deposition place. Here, we demonstrate a new approach for selective edge-specific nanoparticle decoration via light-assisted reduction of silver ions and merging of the silver seeds. We observe self- limited in size arrays of the silver nanoparticles along the tungsten diselenide WSe2 nanoribbon edges’. The density of nanoparticles is tunable according to the laser fluence. The scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy and Raman spectroscopy are used to investigate the size, distribution and photo-response of the selectively deposited plasmonic nanoparticles on the quasi-one dimensional nanoribbons. Our findings offer a new strategy for creating mixed-dimensional heterostructure and heterojunctions with potential applications in opto-electronics, plasmonics and catalysis.
