HAXPES spectra for elemental solids

This collection contains HAXPES spectra of elemental solids. The collection currently contains 3d, 4d, and 5d transition metals: Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni Cu, Zn; Y, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ru, Rh Pd, Ag; Hf, Ta, W, Re, Ir, Pt, and Au. Polycrystalline bulk samples with purities of at least 99.8% were used, except for Au; An evaporated Au thin film was used.

The experiments were conducted at the revolver undulator beamline BL15XU of SPring-8, using a high-resolution hemispherical electron analyzer (VG Scienta R4000 HKE). Nearly normal emission geometry with the electron trajectroy to the analyzer perependicular to the X-ray propagation direction was adapted. X-ray polarization-dependent valence band HAXPES spectra (horizontal, vertical linearly, and circularly polarization) were obtained by using a diamond phase retarder. For the core-level spectra, horizontal linear polarized X-rays (E-vector parallel to the electron trajectory) were used.
